ABOUT Mateo

I specialize in the intersection of complex trauma, sexuality, intimacy, and relationships. Many of the people I work with have spent years understanding their patterns intellectually but still find that trauma, shame, or difficult experiences continue to show up in their bodies, relationships, and sexual lives. My work includes complex trauma and CPTSD, sexual trauma, intimacy and desire concerns, compulsive or problematic sexual behavior, and sexual experiences or interests that may feel stigmatized, confusing, or difficult to discuss openly.

My approach is collaborative, direct, and nonjudgmental. I integrate EMDR with attachment-based, somatic, and experiential work to help you move beyond insight and create change in how you experience yourself and relate to others. I believe sexuality can be explored without unnecessary pathologizing while still making room to honestly examine behaviors, patterns, or experiences that are causing distress, creating harm, or no longer align with how you want to live.

I work with adults and couples across Washington and welcome LGBTQIA+ clients, kink/BDSM communities, and people in consensually non-monogamous or polyamorous relationships. My goal is to provide a space where you can bring the parts of your experience that may have felt too complicated, vulnerable, or uncomfortable to discuss elsewhere and work toward greater self-trust, agency, intimacy, and choice.
